WILD PLAINS WALKING SAFARI
Drive westward, crossing the expanses of the Great Rift Valley,
heading up into the 8,000-foot-high Loita Hills. Hiking and
exploring in the Loita Hills notable for the variety of its
sceneries, which ranges from rolling hills and dramatic escarpments
to expansive plains of open savanna country.
DAY 1: Nairobi - Ndarara
Depart Nairobi passing through the Great Rift Valley, After
descending 2,000 ft. to the valley floor which is studded with
volcanic mountains, you begin to see an animal kingdom unrivalled
anywhere else in Africa. Masailand is the home of huge herds of
plains game. Our route then takes us up onto the Mau Escarpment and
through the small trading town of Narok where you stopover for 30
minutes before heading South and winding up into the forested Loita
Hills close to the Tanzanian border. You will be dropped at Maji
Moto (Kiswahili means hot waters) where a hot spring bubbles out of
the earth at the foot of the hills. A relaxing bath is a must as you
visit Ndarara Mayatta for lunch. Late in the evening reach Ndarara
Camp for Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: Ndarara - Letukuyi
After breakfast leave Ndarara for Letukunyi, taking you about 5-6
hours walk through the scattered bushes and exploring the beautiful
Loita Hills in the Nguruman Escarpment through the forests where you
see striking black and white colombus Monkeys. Occasionally we may
see leopard or bushbuck as you visit various secret waterholes.
There are also a variety of highland birds to view, such as the
turaco, parrot, hornbill, starling, sunbird and the birds of prey.
Dinner and overnight at Letukunyi Camp.
Day 3: Letukunyi – Morinjo
Leave Letukunyi Camp early in the morning for an enjoyable walk
before the sun is too hot . Pass through Narosura for lunch or to
buy what might be out of stock. After an hour or two in this remote
town in Maasai land, proceed to Morijo for dinner and overnight at
Morijo Campsite.
DAY 4: Morinjo - Enkutoto
After breakfast, leave Morijo and walk through the forest, few of
the remaining true-forested wilderness area in East Africa. The walk
will take 5-6 hours across the rolling highlands up to OSupuko, the
summit of the Loita Hills (8,660 ft.), with incredible views, before
descending to the Camp. This is a favourite roost for velvet
monkeys. Walk through the forests and glades in search of bohor
reedbuck, East African Eland, Warthog, and the striking black and
white Colombus Monkeys. Occasionally we may see Bushbuck as we walk
to Enkutoto Campsite.
DAY 5: Enkutoto – Njoroi
After breakfast, leave Enkutoto, walking leisurely for 4-5 hours to
Njoroi Campsite for dinner and overnight. In the camp enjoy an
excellent view of the surrounding area such as lake Magadi, Ngong
hills, Lake Natron and all the way to Tanzania border on a clear
day.

DAY 6: Njoroi - Nguruman - NAIROBI
After breakfast, descend the Escarpment through small farms to
Nguruman town for transfer back to Nairobi via Lake Magadi.
Ololgesalie prehistoric site which is 40 Km from Nairobi where the
Leakey Family discovered axes and tools thought to have been

DAYS Walking in Rift Valley Lakes /.Masai Mara wildlife

Day 1 – Nairobi - Lake Baringo
We depart Nairobi heading north as we drive down the Great
Rift valley enjoying the spectacular views. we drive past
Mt. Logonot, lake Naivasha, lake Elementaita and lake
Nakuru, lunch enroute to arrive lake Baringo in the
afternoon, Late afternoon boat trip to watch hippos, water
birds and crocodiles, Dinner and over night at Roberts Camp
Day-2 L.Baringo – Lake Bogoria walking
After breakfast we drive back abit south to lake Bogoria
game reserve, we drop at the park gate, Where accompanied by
game ranger we start our walk 3-4 hours walk towards
Southend of lake Bogoria,At the hot springs we find our camp
setup,Dinner and overnight at the hot spring campsite.
Day-3 Lake Bogoria – Walking
We start our day by visiting the Flamingos and the hot
springs, The springs shoot more higher as 15 -18ft in the
morning,;CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN WHILE WALKING NEAR THE HOT
SPRINGS AS THESE ARE SUPER HOT;We proceed south to the end
while we turn to east side of the lake,Dinner and overnight
at the bush camp.
Day-4 L.Bogoria – Lake Nakuru National park
Early morning before breakfast we climb eastern lake wall to
catch a good view of the lake in the morning,We descend back
to the bush camp for full breakfast,After breakfast we drive
to lake Nakuru National park arrive Nakuru in time for lunch
Followed by afternoon game drive, Animals like
rhino,lion,zebra,hyena, giraffe,buffalo,Water buck,Impala
baboon troops and many kinds of water birds;pelicans,
commorants and hundreds thousands of flamingos are found in
this park,Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru guest house
Day-5 Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha (Hells gate)
Early
morning game drives then return to the lodge for breakfast
drive to Lake Naivasha by afternoon. Lunch at a camp in
Naivasha followed by a visit to the adjacent Hells Gate
National Park- this park can be explored on foot or by
cycling- bicycles are available for hire at an extra cost.
Dinner and overnight stay at Fish Eagle camp
Hell's Gate is located just beyond Lake Naivasha. Famous for
its natural hot geysers, eagle and vulture breeding grounds,
visitors have the choice of driving, walking, camping, and
cycling and rock climbing within the park. Special location
to view include Fischer's Tower, formerly a volcano's plug,
the Central Tower and Njorowa Gorges. Two extinct volcanos:
Olkaira and Hobley's are worth a trip. Natural steam vents
rise from fissures in the volcanic rock. Obsidian, a
striking black glassy rock formed from cooled molten lava is
a feature of this landscape. Resident game to view includes:
hyrax, buffalo, Masai Giraffe, eland, Coke's Hartebeest,
lion, leopard and some cheetah. A haven for ornithologists
and rock climbers, the cliffs of Hell's Gate are breeding
grounds for vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, Augur Buzzard and
thousands of swifts; and about 103 species of bird have been
recorded. Dinner and overnight spent at Fish Eagle
Camp
Day 6
Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara
Boat ride in Lake Naivasha soon after breakfast then drive
to Masai Mara, Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game
drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Enchoro Camp
Day 7 Maasai Mara
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big
5.Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Optional
hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of
US$ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sidai
Camp or Enchoro Camp
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that
it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have
been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos,
hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo,
warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many
kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that
perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world
takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of
wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search
of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the
predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal,
hyena and vultures
Day 8 – Masai Mara – Nairobi
Breakfast then view game as you exit the park and drive to
Nairobi to arrive by 1500 hrs where the safari ends
